Strengthening Community Policing in War-Affected Hromadas
Territorial Community Police Officers (TCPOs) have received new vehicles to support their work in hromadas in Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.
Ukraine’s international partners, through the Partnership Fund for a Resilient Ukraine (PFRU), support the National Police of Ukraine, strengthening its capacity to work with communities and respond to security challenges during the war.
As part of this support, PFRU has handed over 7 vehicles to TCPOs working in four hromadas across Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts. This delivery continues the Programme’s systematic support to TCPO units in frontline and border regions. Earlier, PFRU had already provided 13 vehicles for TCPOs in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kherson, and Kharkiv oblasts.
In communities that regularly face security challenges, the mobility of law enforcement officers is critically important. The newly provided vehicles will help TCPOs respond more quickly to incidents, maintain a constant police presence in communities, and support evacuation efforts and assistance to civilians living in frontline and border areas.
The transfer of vehicles forms part of PFRU’s broader support to the National Police of Ukraine. The Programme systematically strengthens the capacity of police units in frontline regions – from providing vehicles and equipment to supporting evacuation operations and strengthening cooperation with communities.
